TASER Device Prevents Suicide Attempt

WASHINGTON, March 15, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- TASER International, Inc. (Nasdaq:TASR), a market leader in advanced electronic control devices released the following News Alert:

According to news reports from Michigan's Grand Rapids Press, police arrived at the 700 block of Fuller Avenue NE, at about 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon after calls about a 54 year old man with a knife to his throat threatening to commit suicide. The man was upset about health problems and despite police encouragement and counsel from his pastor, the man refused to drop the knife, so Officer Dennis Newton, a 16 year veteran, deployed his TASER(r) device to gain control of the man.

Police commanders are crediting Officer Newton with saving the man's life by using his TASER device. Newton ended another suicidal situation in November 2005 by using his TASER device.
