License To Thrive: FHC Announces Key to Giving Children the Tools and Techniques They Need to Overcome Every Obstacle in Life

BLUE BELL, Pa., March 21, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- A one-day Seminar entitled "License To Thrive" teaches how to help children develop and grow to their fullest potential. The seminar will be conducted by The Family Hope Center on Saturday, April 8th, 2006 in Blue Bell, PA. "License To Thrive" is designed specifically for parents, parents-to-be, educators, therapists, and anyone else interested in emerging technologies and techniques that help children learn and flourish.

While helping thousands of children with special needs for over 25 years, Family Hope Center Directors Matthew and Carol Newell learned key principles and techniques that can greatly improve the lives of children with special needs. These same principles and techniques, they have found, can be highly effective for all children, not just those with special needs. Everyone who attends this seminar will gain insights and practical knowledge regarding all aspects of the development of a child's brain, whether the child is developing normally, has minor deficits or special needs.

"It's because we focus on the whole child -- physical, neurological, intellectual, and social," says Carol Newell. "This focus on helping children with special needs reach higher levels of neurological development and independence has led to the opportunity -- and responsibility -- to share this with all children and their parents, and that's what "License To Thrive" is all about."

"I went to the Family Hope Center's one-day seminar on 'License To Thrive,'" said Shelly Timmerman who traveled from Utah for a recent seminar. "It was fantastic! It told us how the brain works, why it is important that our children creep, crawl, run, do gymnastics, swim, eat healthy, and a whole lot more. Not a day goes by," she added, "that I don't see an improvement in some area."

"Parenthood doesn't come with a manual," says Matthew Newell. "Every parent has wondered what makes their children tick, and whether they are doing everything they can to prepare their children to thrive -- not just survive -- in their lives to come."

The Family Hope Center was founded by the Newells in 2001. It is an international organization with special expertise in the treatment of brain injury in children. Internationally renowned speakers and Child Brain Developmentalists, the Newells teach and lecture around the world on all phases of brain growth and development. The treatment methods practiced at The Family Hope Center can be effective regardless of the cause of the condition, diagnosis or severity of the impairment.

Ongoing outcomes tracking data validates the methodology utilized by the Family Hope Center, citing a 22% higher total functional gain by the average child compared to a national sample of children with like diagnoses in outpatient rehabilitation. More about the outcomes tracking data and methods can be found at: http://www.familyhopecenter.org/how_we_can_help/clinical_outcomes.html

The Newells are available, along with other key staff members of the Family Hope Center, for publication and broadcast interviews, keynote speaking engagements, and presentations to groups focused on helping well children and children with special needs.
