Georgia Venture Capital Term Sheet Survey Results to be Announced

Southeastern Software Association to Host Event

ATLANTA, March 23, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Scott Gardner, President of the Southeastern Software Association (SSA) and Director of Strategic Development for Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP, will moderate an event tomorrow detailing the latest trends in venture capital term sheets.

The results of the 2005 Georgia Venture Capital Term Sheets Survey will be released Friday, March 24, 2006. The survey was a collaboration between The Advanced Technology Development Center at Georgia Tech (ATDC) and Morris, Manning & Martin. SSA, a society of the Technology Association of Georgia, is hosting the event.

"The term sheet, a summary of the terms the investor is prepared to accept, is a key part of the venture capital process," Gardner said. "We feel that entrepreneurs seeking venture capital funding will find the survey results very helpful."

The survey questions examined the structure of term sheets, key deal terms and their importance and what happens in the VC process before and after a term sheet is submitted.

A networking breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. followed by a presentation and panel discussion from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. The event will be held in the Hodges Connections Room of the ATDC, located at 75 Fifth Street N.W. in Atlanta. The panel of venture capital experts represent the perspectives of both entrepreneurs and investors. They include Ramsay Battin, Principal, Arcapita; Kent Elmer, Partner, TechCFO; Doug Spear, Attorney, Morris, Manning & Martin; and Patrick Taylor, CEO of Oversight Technologies.

The event is free to SSA members and $20 for non-members.

The Southeastern Software Association (SSA) is one of the country's premier networking and professional development organizations for high-tech and software professionals. SSA presents nationally-known speakers, selected for their ability to help executives, managers and entrepreneurs grow their businesses. Participating at SSA events is a valuable way for members to advance their careers and meet potential business partners.

SSA targets software executives, managers, and entrepreneurs in the metro-Atlanta area who are responsible for software products, teams and/or businesses. It is one of three founding organizations that merged to form the Technology Association of Georgia, an umbrella organization dedicated to fostering a rich growth environment for technology development in Georgia.
