EMS SATCOM AMT-3800 Inmarsat High-Gain Antenna Receives Letter of Access Approvability From Inmarsat

ARINC 781 HGA Receives Type Approval

OTTAWA, March 28, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS SATCOM, a division of EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG) reported today that its eNfusion(tm) AMT-3800 fuselage-mount high-gain antenna (HGA) has received a letter of access approvability from Inmarsat.

"This achievement is the culmination of a significant development effort and months of hard work by our team, designing and certifying this antenna," says senior vice-president and general manager of EMS SATCOM, Neil Mackay. "The ARINC 781 Standard defines the next generation of smaller, lighter-weight fuselage-mounted antennas for the air transport industry, and will also open up broadband accessibility to smaller aircraft."

The eNfusion AMT-3800 antenna is designed to fit smaller aircraft and also provide a smaller, lighter solution for larger aircraft. It is the first ARINC 781-compliant antenna available for delivery and installation, and has now received Type Approval from Inmarsat. ARINC 781 antennas consist of two modules, the antenna and the DLNA (diplexer/low-noise amplifier), instead of the usual three modules required for ARINC 741 antennas.

"Our eNfusion AMT-3800 HGA operates with existing Satcom avionics, but is designed to be future-proof and ready to operate with the next generation of ARINC 781 avionics currently under development. The AMT-3800 has already been selected by several aircraft OEM's, and complements our market-leading Swift avionics to provide what we believe is a complete broadband solution," Mackay said.
