Delta Air Lines Continues Largest International Expansion with Inaugural Service to Dusseldorf

Mayor Shirley Franklin helps celebrate Atlanta's first non-stop service to the German city


MEDIA ADVISORY, March 31, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin, German Consul General Hans-Joerg Brunner and Delta's Vice President of Public Affairs Doug Blissit will kick off Delta's inaugural service between Atlanta and Dusseldorf -- the Southeast's only non-stop service to the Germany city -- with an event at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Delta now offers Germany-bound customers eight daily nonstop flights between the U.S. and Germany. Delta serves a total of five German airports and operates daily non-stop services from Atlanta, Cincinnati and New York JFK to Frankfurt, as well as services between Atlanta and New York JFK to Berlin, Munich and Stuttgart.

Delta's Atlanta hub is the fastest growing international gateway in the United States, with more than 24 new international markets announced since September 2005.
