Nobel Biocare Consumer Awareness Campaign NobelSmile Now Launched in 29 countries

ZURICH, Switzerland, April 3, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nobel Biocare is strengthening its consumer awareness program around the world: On 1 April, the world leader in innovative esthetic dental solutions initiated a campaign to inform the general public about modern tooth replacement. The campaign includes patient information material, media features and a consumer website: NobelSmile.com. Available in 29 countries this campaign is a channel to meet the growing demand by patients to make advised decisions about their dental care.

"Tooth loss is still a taboo topic in society and a handicap that is often difficult to bear. Over 30 million people in the western world have lost all their teeth and experience a loss of self-confidence. We care about them and want to break this taboo. Still too many people do not go to the dentist because they are afraid of the pain. With this campaign we inform about the fantastic possibilities that dentists and dental laboratories can offer them today", says Heliane Canepa, President and CEO of Nobel Biocare.

In the western world alone, an estimated 240 million people are suffering from missing at least one tooth. Many of them are not aware of the solutions available today. The intention of this comprehensive campaign is to raise awareness on modern tooth replacement. It is built around the consumer website and includes patient information and support material, advertisement and features in health and lifestyle media and the Truck Tour.

The website, which was already very successfully introduced in North America last year and now is extended around the world, provides in the respective languages of the different countries clear answers to frequently asked questions in the field of quality of life enhancing, beautiful tooth restoration solutions, be it implant solutions or crowns and bridges on teeth.

The website also features patient testimonials and how to get beautiful and long-lasting teeth. In most country websites, thanks to a special search function, people will also find information about dentists trained and specialized in Nobel Biocare solutions near where they live.
