ATLANTA, April 3, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG) Defense & Space Systems Division announced today the addition of new staff to further strengthen its strategic growth initiatives. EMS has now assigned personnel to drive Technology Solutions for U.S. Government laboratories and Airborne and Terrestrial Solutions (A&TS) to greater levels of participation. The new staff reinforces a Business Development function focused on defense electronics market opportunities and the growing demand for secure, mobile satellite communications, high-bandwidth line-of-sight datalinks, and cost-effective sensors and smart weapons. The following key staff will address these initiatives:

Theresa Brunasso -- Responsible for government research & development technology marketing, Brunasso will assess opportunities and work to position, bid, and win important technology contracts with major U.S. Government laboratories and agencies. Ms. Brunasso is recognized as an expert in microwave systems for secure satellite communication and high performance radar applications.

Bayne Bunce -- Responsible for Airborne & Terrestrial Solutions, Bunce will direct overall A&TS growth activities and lead Data Links and Satcom-on-the-move activities. Mr. Bunce is noted as an avionics systems engineer and has been instrumental in EMS's diverse roles in WIN-T, JSTARS, and an Israeli MOD radar illuminator development program.

Jim Daly -- Responsible for Airborne & Terrestrial Solutions for Sensors and Smart Weapons activities, Daly will assess cross-service opportunities for lightweight, affordable radar, electronic countermeasures, and missile-seeker applications. Mr. Daly recently joined EMS from M/A-Com, a Tyco Electronics Company, where he was responsible for business development activities for unmanned aerial systems sensors.

"We are fortunate to have these people join our Business Development team," said Mike Fatig, the division's vice president of business development.
