EMS Wireless Introduces SelectaCell Repeater with Enhanced Features at CTIA Wireless 2006

New, Intelligent Repeater Provides Ubiquitous, Discreet Cellular Coverage Instantaneously to SOHO Customers

LAS VEGAS, April 5, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- CTIA Wireless 2006 Booth #5843 -- EMS Wireless, a division of EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG), is announcing today at CTIA Wireless 2006 the introduction of its SelectaCell(tm) repeater product, its newest low-profile, lightweight in-building Signal Enhancement Unit designed to boost wireless coverage inside homes, small offices and buildings.

The SelectaCell repeater, an in-building 1900 MHz band-select unit, amplifies and enhances the signal of the carrier-specific spectrum. Additional features include auto-setup with power and gain control, plus the bonus feature of zero-touch engineering with no cable required. Pulling in only the discriminating signal allows small business and home office users to fully use voice, data and entertainment applications. EMS Wireless currently is marketing this economically priced unit through wireless service providers to the Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) market.

"The new, high-speed 3G data systems require greater signal strength in order to maintain a high-speed data path. EMS's SelectaCell repeater can support a 40-to-50 percent increase in data through-put speeds," notes David McKay, chief technical officer for EMS Wireless. "Our customers see significant demand for this product, and we believe there is potential market deployment volume in the hundreds of thousands of units."

As a single-enclosure unit, the SelectaCell repeater requires no external antennas or installation; the user simply places it near a window or convenient location with adequate signal strength and plugs it into an electrical outlet. The system provides coverage for all 1900 MHz system protocols, including CDMA, GSM/PCS and TDMA. In addition, users can easily cascade these units together to enhance coverage throughout a building or campus -- without the need for physical installation or wiring.
