In this configuration, the UAG provides security, IP mobility, and quality of service (QoS) for calls on the Wi-Fi network. These active voice calls are then handed off between the Wi-Fi and CDMA2000 1xRTT networks. Demonstrations will take place all week at CTIA 2006.

The UAG is a fully-redundant gateway based on an Advanced TCA platform and supports over a million subscribers.
