LAS VEGAS, April 5, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- The CDMA Development Group (CDG) (www.cdg.org) today announced the addition of 15 new members over the last five months including operators and infrastructure and test equipment manufacturers from around the world.
"This growth follows the expansion of CDMA2000(r) with operators and manufacturers in many new and emerging regions bringing innovative 3G solutions to market," said Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDG. "The CDG welcomes our new members and we look forward to working with them in the development of advanced CDMA technologies."
New CDG members include Alvarion, Inc.; Bahamas Telecommunications Company, Ltd.; Caribbean Cellular Telephone; CDMA Mobile Phone Center (S-Telecom); Elektrobit, Inc.; EOCG, LLC; Guamcell; Oceanic Digital Jamaica, Ltd. (MiPhone); PT Bakrie Telecom; PulseWave RF; SaskTel; Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago, Ltd. (TSTT); Telecommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS); TenXc; and Terracom SAR.
The CDG provides a unique forum for companies to jointly develop and promote CDMA2000 products and services. In addition to the development and deployment of state-of-the-art CDMA2000 technologies, member companies participate in technical and business-centric activities at the CDG, such as international roaming and Global Handset Requirements for CDMA. "The CDG will continue its efforts ensure that consumers have access to the finest CDMA2000 wireless service," added LaForge.
