Pacific Sunwear Opens First One Thousand Steps Stores


ANAHEIM, Calif., April 7, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Pacific Sunwear of California, Inc. (Nasdaq:PSUN) announced that today it opened its first three One Thousand Steps stores. The Company's new specialty footwear and accessories concept makes its initial debut at the Galleria at Tyler in Riverside, California; Los Cerritos Center in Cerritos, California and the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This new mall-based concept will be targeted at an 18-24 year old customer and will feature an assortment of casual, fashion-forward, branded footwear and related accessories.

"One Thousand Steps will enable us to leverage our brand management skills in what we believe is an underserved market.
