Northrop Grumman Signs Hampton Building Lease

HAMPTON, Va., April 7, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) further demonstrated its commitment to the Air and Space Operations Center Weapon Systems Integrator (AOC WSI) program, completing transactions this week to lease office and laboratory space for program personnel.

The building, located at the Hampton Roads Center, 2000 Gateway Blvd., Hampton, Va., will serve as the Integration and Support Facility for the Northrop Grumman AOC WSI team. The facility will provide office space for more than 450 people and laboratory space for integration, fielding and support capabilities for the AOC Weapon System program. Personnel from four sectors of Northrop Grumman Corporation, as well as team members from L-3 Communications, Titan Group, Draper Laboratory and Zel Technologies, will reside in the facility which is located near Langley Air Force Base.

The U.S. Air Force is expected to award a contract for the AOC WSI program this summer. The Air and Space Operations Center is the Joint Force Air Component Commander's primary tool for commanding air and space power. The program's focus is to evolve the AOC weapons systems by increasing their effectiveness, efficiency, the availability of air and space resources, and by reducing total ownership cost to meet current and evolving mission requirements.

Alan Doshier, sector vice president of airborne ground surveillance & battle management systems for Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems, commented, "I am confident in the ability of our team to accomplish the goals put forth by the Air Force for AOC WSI. We have unprecedented experience in building and integrating incredibly complex systems."

"The Hampton Roads Center campus is strategically located to foster growth in the high-technology arena," said Hampton Mayor Ross A. Kearney, II. "Northrop Grumman has been an integral part of our community for many years, and we are proud to have them recognize the value of this important Hampton location."

The Northrop Grumman Airborne Ground Surveillance & Battle Management Systems organization in Melbourne, Fla., has led the effort to win the AOC WSI contract. The Melbourne site is home to the world-class systems engineering and integration team that produced the Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar Systems and its follow-on battle management system, the E-10A.
