LOS ANGELES, April 10, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Harrison Ford received the Russian Nights Festival's 2006 Tower Award, recognizing his contribution to world cinema, at a special ceremony held in Los Angeles on April 8. Actress Thora Birch presented award to Ford.

The fourth annual Russian Nights Festival in Los Angeles, presented by Stas Namin Center, this year honored Ford, as well as Sir Ben Kingsley, Gore Vidal, and cinematographer Andrzej Bartkowiak, by presenting them with the 2006 Tower Award, the festival's prestigious prize, at the closing night ceremony at the Pacific Design Center, Silver Screen Theater. Presenters included Shohreh Aghdashloo, Thora Birch, Natasha Henstridge, Vadim Perelman and Raquel Welch. Actor Rob Schneider was also honored at the ceremony, while Dennis Hopper and Roger Corman received Tower Awards during the opening ceremony on April 2.
Presented by Moscow's Stas Namin Center, Russian Nights Festival (April 2-8) this year offered up its most impressive and diverse schedule to date, celebrating the rich culture of Russia, past and present, with an exciting festival program featuring the best from the worlds of film, music, theater and contemporary art.
