Short-term Trading Is No Shortcut To $1 Million Even If You Start With The Whopping Sum Of Half a Million And Have Two Years To Get It Done

Some people say day trading stocks like Lucent (NYSE:LU) is not likely to grow as an industry going forward. With this purpose in mind, a broker mentioned recently, "The daytrading philosophy was very active in the beginning - but that's no longer the case. In fact, day trading might be likened to going to the local casino."

That said, U.S. stocks like Lucent (NYSE:LU) are just like your grocery store: Someone once said,"trading stocks like LU can be a journey of self discovery down the aisles of the Wallstreet 'market'" That same analyst said recently, "Investing is some sort of black-magic that only a few people hold the key to."

But, I disagree. I think the key to trading a stock like LU lies in technical analysis. Stochastics, RSI, and MACD are the only "voodoo" I need to find an entry or exit point in LU. Currently, I see the stock with more upside, but just slightly.

Speculators in LU say trust is essential for doing business with a brokerage firm. I say, trust is important, but the equity market is smart, not perfect, and certainly not fair -- which is what "trust" implies.
