DonHarrold.net Commentary -- April 17, 2006
Option trading in a stock like the QQQQs can be often seen as a contradiction in terms. For instance, an analyst said recently, "QQQQ investors could be ready to dive head-first in this red-hot sector." But, many investors (myself included) think the market for gold is too volatile to gain the respect of real trading pros that like to trade real estate (or other non-tech) stocks.
QQQQ investors need to find a vehicle that guards their assets. Stocks like the QQQQs might fall below their 30-day average before they bounce higher. In my opinion, stocks such as the QQQQ are going to drop sharply over the short-term. Then, stocks such as the QQQQ could start to base and act stronger than gold (which has been very strong of late).
On that note, many gold investors think buying gold will be seen as a stable financial move, over the long haul, and outpace investing in the QQQQs.
