DonHarrold.net Commentary - April 20, 2006

Today, I'll write what I write every day again... that being, all of my picks are up nicely, and some are at all-time highs, like Suncor and BHP Billiton, both up over 20% since recommendation.

If you didn't get into these picks, mainly Suncor or BHP Billiton, there's only one reason:

You thought they might go down. There couldn't possibly be another. It is a natural thought process actually, but that's the only reason. You may have decided to watch the stocks for a while, and then wait for a pullback, but the pullback never happened.

If you got in, it's because you thought they'd go up. And well, they really did. So, here's a quote you must remember:

"A bull market climbs a wall of worry. A bear market sails down a river hope." This is a famous quote, and it's one of the best trading quotes ever.

Remember 1999 and early 2000? That was one big wall of worry. A wall of worry works two ways. You can be worried that stocks might go down, or, you might be worried you are going to miss out on the action! Neither of these is a good place to be. When I recommended our picks, no one was worried about "missing out," so we got them at good prices, and now we just sit back and let others climb the wall of worry while we watch our accounts go up every day. Then when the hysteria is off the charts, we will be selling. Markets have always worked like this, and always will. Why?

The human factor. - Neil Batho, Guest Commentator
