Semotus Announces Major New Customer Wins in Japan

LOS GATOS, Calif., April 20, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Semotus Solutions (AMEX:DLK), an innovative leader of software solutions for enterprise mobility, today announced that Clickmarks, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Semotus, has won its first major customers in Japan since the appointment of Redwood, Inc. (http://rwi.jp) as its exclusive Japanese distributor earlier this year. Specifically, Redwood has contracted with both Nippon COMSYS Corporation and Zacatti Consulting for Clickmarks' solutions.

Nippon COMSYS Corporation is a major communication infrastructure construction company in Japan with 3,500 employees. COMSYS' internal IT department purchased the Clickmarks license and started a trial project to develop internal applications on mobile devices enabling their field service employees to access internal data and applications within the organization. Extending their internal applications to employees' cell phones considerably enhances their productivity and efficiency. Mr. Haruhiko Fujimoto, IT business division, Internal IT Department Director of Nippon COMSYS Corporation, noted, "We started this trial project because Clickmarks' solution is promising to allow us to mobilize our Java applications, as well as our internal IT resources, in a short period of time without modifying the program."

Zacatii Consulting, formerly the Japanese branch of Cap Gemini, was recently acquired by NTT Data. Zacatii chose Clickmarks to develop its Enterprise Information Portal (EIP) in the fastest and most cost effective manner. Clickmarks enables Zacatii to unite disparate project, customer and partner information into a single EIP platform for all of its services employees, without rewriting or replacing existing backend applications. "We considered adopting an EAI engine to develop our internal portal. Instead, we chose to adopt the Clickmarks solution because it has the portal server functionality and the drag-and-drop portlet creation feature on its Presentation Server," stated Mr. Ken Kakiuchi, IT Manager of Zacatii Consulting.

According to Umair Khan, President of Clickmarks, "Both Nippon COMSYS and Zacatii have recognized the tremendous value our solutions provide in enabling mobilization and portalization for a corporation's employees, customers and partners. I am extremely pleased by the acquisition of these two blue chip customers and congratulate Redwood on achieving success so early in our partnership."

"We are delighted by the success of our sales and marketing campaign on behalf of Clickmarks," stated Yutaka Katabami, CEO of Redwood Inc. "To win such high caliber companies as customers is proof of the promise of Clickmarks' PLI technology in addressing the growing demand from Japanese enterprise seeking mobilization and portalization tools. We remain committed to partnering with Clickmarks and look forward to our continued joint success."

Anthony Lapine, CEO of Semotus, added, "This initial sales success validates Redwood's strength in the Japanese market and reaffirms that our decision to partner with them was indeed the right one. In light of the robust sales pipeline currently being pursued by Redwood, we fully expect that Japan may ultimately prove to be one of Semotus' most dynamic growth markets."
