BALTIMORE, April 24, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has appointed Catherine Lamb-Heinz director of communications for the company's Electronic Systems sector.

In this position, Lamb-Heinz will be responsible for all communications functions, including executive and employee communications, media relations, marketing communications, advertising, special events, and the sector's Internet and intranet communications content.

Northrop Grumman's Baltimore-based Electronic Systems sector is a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of defense and commercial electronics and systems.

Lamb-Heinz joined Northrop Grumman in 1995 at the Defensive Systems Division (DSD) in Rolling Meadows, Ill., as manager of External Communications. In 1999, she was appointed director of Public Policy and Administration for DSD, with responsibility for communications, security, facilities, product support, and graphics and printing services.

Most recently, she served as director, Western Region Communications, with responsibility for communications activities at several Electronic Systems sector divisions and business units as well as the Asia-Pacific, North America and South America regions.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Lamb-Heinz worked in both state and federal government, including 10 years with the U.S. Senate.

She earned a bachelor's degree in education from Mount Vernon College.
