SkyTeam Launches Global Meetings Product

International event organizers can manage meeting travel through single contact

NEW YORK, April 25, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, today announced a new product aimed at organizers and attendees of global meetings, conferences and events -- SkyTeam Global Meetings. The product is designed to streamline the process of arranging travel for large-scale international meetings -- from registering the event to simplified booking for event attendees. With SkyTeam Global Meetings, event organizers are able to coordinate all air travel needs across ten member airlines via one single point of contact, while event attendees can receive attractive or discounted airfares and still accrue frequent flyer miles on all SkyTeam carriers.

"Given our extensive network and key airport hubs in the Americas, Asia and Europe, the SkyTeam alliance is positioned to offer event organizers and attendees more flight and schedule options, with nearly 15,000 daily departures to 728 destinations in 149 countries," said Franck Thiebaut, chair of SkyTeam's sales coordination committee and vice president of alliance marketing, Air France. "SkyTeam Global Meetings was specifically designed to make the process of managing travel easier for those who arrange and attend large scale international events all over the world."

Benefits for Event Organizers

SkyTeam Global Meetings allows event organizers to complete an easy online application to select SkyTeam as their event's official alliance network. Once their registration is complete,(a) event organizers will be able to offer attractive or discounted fares to event attendees traveling on participating airlines. Event organizers will be paired with a single airline to act as the point of contact for all SkyTeam carriers. Event organizers may also take part in a special incentive program(b) and earn travel certificates, based on the number of attendees carried by each participating member of the SkyTeam alliance. To help promote SkyTeam as the event's official alliance network, event organizers can download logos and other collateral, as well as provide a link to the SkyTeam Global Meetings page.

Benefits for Event Attendees

Event attendees can log in to the Global Meetings attendee page at www.skyteam.com and access schedules for all SkyTeam member airlines, as well as download airport, city and business guides. Attendees can also access booking instructions for all participating SkyTeam airlines, and gain access to attractive fares or special discounts and earn frequent flier miles on any SkyTeam frequent flier program.
