Harsco Agrees to Cape PLC Request Regarding Announcement


HARRISBURG, Pa., April 26, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Worldwide industrial services and products company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) has agreed to a request from U.K.-based Cape PLC that Cape issue, under rules governing U.K. public corporations, the following announcement.

"Cape PLC announces that it is in discussions with SGB Group Limited, a subsidiary of Harsco, for the disposal of Cleton, Cape's $50 million turnover industrial services and scaffolding business in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. The proposed transaction, which the parties hope to conclude by the end of May 2006, is subject to due diligence, regulatory clearance and the detailed negotiation of satisfactory contract terms."
