Phillip and Steven Christian Join Stonebridge's Board of Directors; Update on Port Arthur Assets


HOUSTON, May 2, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Stonebridge Resources Exploration, Ltd., (Pink Sheets:SBRX) is pleased to announce that Phillip and Steven Christian have joined Stonebridge's board of directors. Philip Christian will be replacing Dr. Van Hauen as CEO and Chairman. With their extensive experience, Stonebridge is excited at the opportunity to utilize their expertise in future matters of business.

Until his appointment to Stonebridge's Board of Directors, Phillip Christian's entrepreneurial spirit led him towards the oil and gas industry. His interest in the industry was instrumental in his drive to create Christian Intergy and its subsidiary, Christian Operating Company. As its president and CEO, Phillip led the company to be both proficient and profitable.

With a B.B.A in Finance from the University of St. Thomas, Steven Christian's work with Christian Intergy and Christian Operating Company has let him manage matters of acquisitions, dispositions, and daily production operations. Stonebridge's Board of Directors is pleased to be able to draw upon his expertise in areas relating to recently acquired assets.

Updating previously released information on its Port Arthur assets: Stonebridge has commenced work on the number 4 well on Saturday, April 29, 2006 and will keep everyone updated as information becomes available.
