New Organizational Structure Provides a Launching Pad into New Market Opportunities

SAN FRANCISCO, May 2, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Avolent, Inc., the leader in Interactive, Self-Service Electronic Billing and Payment software, today announced the appointment of David Parker as senior vice president of sales. With more than 25 years of experience, Parker has a stellar track record of leadership and success with start-up, private and public technology ventures. During his career in the technology industry, he has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to drive effective sales strategies that produce intimate and compelling customer relationships, and develop solid partnerships with key enterprise software solutions providers.

"Our ability to attract an executive of Dave's breadth of experience is a testament to Avolent's quality team and market opportunity," said Doug Robert, chief executive officer of Avolent. "Dave has that rare combination of business and technical skills necessary to truly collaborate with customers and partners. His sales leadership and proven track record of building and managing rapidly growing sales teams will accelerate sales execution to the Fortune 1000 organizations that require an eBusiness solution for interactive electronic and billing payment software. His strategic guidance will undoubtedly generate value for Avolent, its customers and partners."

Reporting directly to Doug Roberts, Avolent's CEO, Parker will lead Avolent's enterprise field sales, corporate sales and business development organizations. With the benefit of Parker's experience and field-proven ability to build successful distribution strategies, Avolent now has a veteran sales team aligned to Avolent's market opportunities. This team is fueling Avolent's growth and momentum by bringing Avolent solutions to large organizations with complex eBilling requirements as well as mid-market organizations that require a simpler solution that can scale. Critical to this alignment is working collaboratively with Avolent's expanding list of partners to deliver mutually beneficial support in joint sales efforts.

Parker was the original president of WebLogic prior to its acquisition by BEA Systems in 1998. WebLogic achieved a peak market valuation of $3 billion as its pro-rata share of BEA. Earlier, he led a management buy-out of Quintus, a pioneer in front-office and eCRM enterprise application software. Parker has been a principal executive for a number of successful enterprise software vendors, including Enlighten Software, Appeal Virtual Machines, Exemplary and SeeRun.

"Avolent's software solution is field-proven, enterprise-class, and touted by well-known customers and partners, said Parker, senior vice president of sales at Avolent. "Avolent offers real solutions to real business needs. I look forward to helping accelerate the company's on-going growth and expansion."

Parker also has participated on a number of advisory boards, including Geneva Venture Partners, Ardtully, Karna Global Technology, ePac and KatieSoft. He is a graduate of Stanford University with a degree in Economics.
