Bring Your Family Down to Penn's Landing For Fun4kids Fest!

PHILADELPHIA, May 4, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Join us for three days of free fun-filled entertainment for the whole family. The First Annual Fun4Kids Fest will take place June 30, in conjunction with Sunoco Welcome America's Kids Day, and July 1 and 2, 2006. Continuing the mission to provide quality entertainment for the entire family, this FREE event celebrating kids will take place on the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing, located on Columbus Boulevard at Chestnut Street.

Fun4Kids Fest kicks off on June 30th with Sunoco Welcome America's Kids Day from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. This year Kids Day embarks on a journey "Back to the Future" as it transports visitors through time to discover developments in science and technology -- past, present and future! Kids can stroll to the tunes of their favorite musical artists, courtesy of Radio Disney, then explore a world of possibilities through a variety of crafts, interactive games and activities designed to inspire, educate and entertain children ages 13 and under.

The Super Scooper All-You-Can-Eat Ice Cream Pavilion will be open each day of this three-day festival. More than 20 different vendors will provide all-you-can-eat ice cream samples. Pavilion hours will be 12 Noon until 5:00 p.m. each day and a $5 donation is required to enter the pavilion. Past vendors have included Ben & Jerry's, Rita's Water Ice, Breyers, Wawa and Haagen-Dazs. All net proceeds from the event will benefit the Joshua Kahn Fund to fight pediatric leukemia and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Oncology Division.

Throughout the three-day festival, kids will be able to participate in a variety of free games and activities. From face painting to strolling entertainment there will be fun for the whole family!

The Dirty Sock Funtime Band will be performing at this year's Fun4Kids Fest. They are a fun group of guys who like to make great music together. The band looks like little kids playing in dress-up clothes, which makes them even more appealing to children of all ages. They have two hit CDs for kids, Mr. Clown and the Day the Sun Got Wet and The Search and Rescue of Genius Backpack. According to Chris Barron of the Spin Doctors, who is featured in one of DSFB's songs, The Dirty Sock Funtime Band is a "rock band for kids that really rocks." Philadelphia's own Steve Pullara & His Cool Beans Band will also be performing on July 2. Steve is a singer, songwriter and artist whose musical roots go deep within many cultural traditions. His mix of drawing and singing are reminiscent of the TV shows of the 1950s and 60s. After many years of entertaining kids and families in the Philadelphia area, he is comfortable with his niche as well as his audience. Steve's new CD, A Big Bowl of Musicroni, has won accolades including A Parent's Choice Approved Award and NAPPA Honors in Best Audio For Children. Stage entertainment on July 2 will also include Mr. Ray and his cast of characters. After years of performing with rock stars, Mr. Ray (Ray Andersen) has focused on a new demographic, children under the age of 8. In 1994, Ray was asked to play for a group of pre-school kids, and in no time he was known as Mr. Ray. Clad in his trademark hip sunglasses and clothes, holding an eye-catching, sticker-covered guitar, the kids became hooked on Mr. Ray. It suddenly became cool to sing about dinosaurs, friendship and rainbows. For more information on Mr. Ray please visit www.mrray.com

Fun4Kids Fest and the Super Scooper All-You-Can-Eat Ice Cream Pavilion is supported by proud media partner, B101. Personalities from B101 will be on hand throughout the weekend for meet and greets. Buzzbee and the B101 will also present Karaoke on Saturday, July 1, 2006.
