All Rights Reserved (Moist Music) is Acosta's double-disc releasing on 5/14/2006. It's actually two albums: CD1 is representative of Acosta's live sets, while the strongest tracks on CD2 are Acosta's own. "Mellodrama" featuring Truth was chosen by the editors of the U.K.'s Mixmag as the #1 track for April, and hits like "The Other Side" are as explosive on the dancefloor as their creation was emotional.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Acosta is one of America's best DJs, known for his driving, melodic sound. A professional DJ since 1988 and producer since 1992, Acosta is well-known for his massive dancefloor anthems, including "Fever Express," and the Platinum-selling single, Acosta presents Planet Soul's "Set You Free," which sold over 1.2 million copies worldwide. Acosta's big commercial edits include a remix of Jon Secada's "Window," which recently charted among Billboard's Top 20 dance tracks. In the U.S., Acosta DJs at clubs in Miami (Space), Washington D.C. (Glow), and Atlanta (1150). Internationally, Acosta spins in Ibiza (Privilege, Space), Lebanon (Tantra), and Berlin (Love Parade).
All Rights Reserved was recorded using Digidesign's Pro Tools, Waldorf outboard gear and the Access Virus synth run through a Mac G5 dual-processor. In the DJ booth, Acosta uses Ableton Live or Serato but lately plays mostly CDs with the Pioneer CDJ-1000. Vinyl records, Ortofon needles and his Sony V700 headphones are also an essential part of touring.
