Art Auction to Benefit Senior Connections

CHAMBLEE, Ga., May 12, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- "Paintings and Tastings -- an Art Auction to Benefit Senior Connections" will be held on Saturday, May 20 at Senior Connections' offices in Chamblee to raise funds for senior services. The event will boast a variety of art and collectibles including original art, lithographs and prints as well as Hollywood and sports memorabilia. A week-long stay at a villa in Tuscany, Italy will also be up for bid. In addition to the live auction, the event will feature a silent auction and raffles as well as hors d'oeuvres and wine.

"Paintings and Tastings" represents a significant departure from the luncheons and roasts that Senior Connections has held in past years. "We wanted to have an event that would be fun and unique and had the potential to grow into an annual, signature event for years to come," says Senior Connections CEO Debra Furtado. "The auction provides people with an exciting way to actually participate in the event and the opportunity to take something home to show for their donation."

Proceeds from ticket sales, the live auction and the silent auction will support programs including Meals on Wheels, Home Repair, Senior Wellness Center activities, and In-Home Services for seniors in metro Atlanta.

Tickets for "Paintings and Tastings" are $20 each. Space is limited and advance purchase is recommended. Mail reservation requests and payment to Senior Connections, 5238 Peachtree Road, Chamblee, GA 30341. For more information, contact Robin Kirby at 770.216.2581 or rkirby@srconn.org.
