QLogic and Revivio to Deliver Industry's First Network Based CDP Solutions

Leaders in Storage Networking and Continuous Data Protection Enter Into Strategic Alliance to Deliver Solutions Through the Channel

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. and LEXINGTON, Mass., May 15, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- QLogic(R) Corp. (Nasdaq:QLGC), the leader in Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs), stackable switches and blade server switches, and Revivio(R), Inc., a leading provider of data protection and application availability solutions, today announced a strategic alliance enabling channel partners to deliver the industry's first intelligent storage network-based customer data protection (CDP) solutions. Leveraging the QLogic SANbox(R) 8000 Storage Services Platform and Revivio TimeOS version 5.0 software, the solutions will enable channel partners to meet new levels of customer data protection service simply and cost-effectively across a wide range of enterprise datacenter environments. The integration effort will be further detailed in a technology demonstration at Fusion 2006: QLogic Worldwide Partner Conference, being held May 22-24, 2006 at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas.

"To maximize profitability, QLogic channel partners are asking for simple solutions to complicated problems," said Frank Berry, vice president of marketing, QLogic Corp. "Revivio's TimeOS V5.0 software and the QLogic SANbox 8000 will form a CDP appliance that channel partners can easily integrate and deploy to address the complex challenge of improving data protection."

"The QLogic SANbox 8000 Storage Services Platform and Revivio's TimeOS V5.0 software will give our partners the ability to offer true enterprise-wide dynamic data availability," said Kirby Wadsworth, senior vice president of marketing and business development for Revivio. "Assimilating continuous data capture technology into the fabric provides massive scalability, geographic and server independence, and exceptionally high performance -- capabilities that have now become table stakes for next-generation data protection architectures."

"The number of end user CDP installations is growing at a steady rate. This, combined with the abundance of media coverage and industry analyst focus during the last couple of years, has brought about quite a leap in overall industry awareness of late," said Dianne McAdam, director, enterprise information assurance, The Clipper Group. "The partnership of Revivio and QLogic will benefit both companies. More importantly, however, this is great news for customers that may have been hesitant to deploy an 'emerging technology,' but recognize that they are faced with significant challenges around data protection and application availability, as well as the fact that more traditional technologies have not been able to meet their needs."

QLogic and Revivio will work together to qualify and support the integrated solutions that will be offered through a network of value-added resellers. Availability is planned for the second half of 2006.
