Xlibris Releases Fascinating Novel About the Wrath of Nature and the Future of Mankind

STROUDSBURG, Pa., May 15, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- With the release of Among The Living, author Phil Weber is about to lead his readers on a fascinating journey about the wrath of nature, mankind's struggle and abuse of his world and what the future holds for us all.

This novel features one man's story of acceptance and renewal as one of the few survivors of an apocalyptic series of natural disasters. The tale begins when a chain of catastrophic natural disasters strike Earth and its inhabitants, those left Among The Living, face surviving in a World that is no longer what is was, nor what it will ever be again. This book goes beyond the apocalyptic adventure of those fighting for survival on a planet ravaged by nature and the subsequent collapse of every society on the planet. Utilizing scientific fact as a foundation for the story, Among The Living examines the human condition through one man's eyes as he faces his existence and purpose in being one of the ones left to start over.

An exciting journey awaits an unlikely pioneer, Henry, the story's protagonist. The book explores his life, relationships, passions and the evolution of his heart and soul. On a journey that takes him and those he loves from his home "off the grid" in New Hampshire, to recover precious American treasures in the National Gallery, and to sharing a moment with a Cosmonaut at the Cosmodrome in the former Soviet Union, Henry finds despair, hope and a changed man in himself in Among The Living.

Timely and relevant to current events, Among The Living will magnetize and entertain a wide audience of readers, especially with adults who understand the topics of spirituality and technical topics behind the story. The concepts of feelings and recovery that are brought forward by the author will be appreciated by readers who have the capacity to explore their own feelings. At the same time, this book will profoundly affect those who seek to fully discover and understand their own relationship with God and their loved ones. Among The Living is bound to give readers an educational look at their environment while giving them extended moments of human drama, action and science fiction.
