LOS ANGELES, May 15, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) recognized nonprofit organizations throughout Southern California May 11 during its 15th annual Community Service Grants reception at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Some 220 local organizations were presented with grants as part of the company's financial commitment to the region.
"Our partnerships make all the difference in meeting the diverse needs of our communities nationwide," said Sandra Evers-Manly, Northrop Grumman vice president of ethics and diversity.
Northrop Grumman's community service program focuses on organizations that address health, education, diversity, the needs of youth and families at risk, the environment, career and employment counseling, human services and the arts. Such organizations as People Assisting the Homeless, California Science Center, Downtown Women's Center, L.A. Shares, Theatre of Hearts Inc. and Para Los Ninos are a few of the innovative programs recognized by Northrop Grumman.
The annual grants reception brings together the company's nonprofit community partners and provides a forum for new collaborations that can fully benefit the communities in which Northrop Grumman employees work and live. In addition, corporate employees were presented with Community Service Awards for their demonstrated commitment to volunteerism.
