QLogic Honored by Network World Magazine

Company Maintains Position in Top 100 on NW200 List

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., May 16, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- QLogic(r) Corp. (Nasdaq:QLGC), the leader in Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs), stackable switches and blade server switches, today announced that Network World Magazine has selected the company to appear on its Network World 200 list. QLogic is ranked as the 81st largest North American public network companies, based on 2005 revenue; retaining its strong position from the previous year's list.

"That QLogic continues to rank high among North America's networking companies is no surprise to us. The company is innovative in opening up new markets," said Steve Duplessie, founder and senior analyst of Enterprise Strategy Group. "Their new portfolio of HBAs, HCAs, switches, routers and virtualization appliances form a powerful network platform on which customers can cost effectively deploy storage services from desk top to data center."

Network World provides an annual ranking and analysis of the 200 largest traded network companies in North America to give its readers the data they need to judge the financial well-being of their vendors.

"We're honored to again be included on this prestigious list by Network World, one of the technology sector's most respected publications," said Frank Berry, vice president of marketing at QLogic. "The future of the networking industry looks bright and as one of its top 100 companies, we look forward to continuing to serve our customers as an industry leader and reliable partner."

As noted in the April 24 issue of Network World Magazine, collective revenue for the NW200 was up 11 percent from 2004, to $919 billion, and profits climbed 16 percent to $82 billion. The number of companies that were profitable -- 70 percent -- is highest in the 12-year history of the list.
