U-Haul International, Inc. Teams With McCormick & Co. to Spice Up the Memorial Day Weekend

Free Barbecue Seasoning With Propane Refill

PHOENIX, May 22, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- U-Haul International, Inc., North America's largest propane barbecue-refilling network, is once again teaming up with McCormick & Co., Inc. to spice up the Memorial Day weekend grilling experience and show appreciation to propane customers. Customers can bring in their propane tank for topping off at any participating U-Haul center location between May 26 and 29, and receive free sample packets of Grill Mates Montreal Steak Seasoning.

"McCormick is the expert on flavorful grilling, and the packets of Grill Mates Montreal Steak Seasoning is our way of saying thanks to all of our propane customers as they prepare to gather with friends and family and fire up the grill this Memorial Day weekend," stated James Happ, U-Haul Propane Program manager.

As the summer grilling season begins, U-Haul offers the following advice to families for saving money on propane and keeping the holiday weekend safe while grilling.

-- After having your cylinder filled, transport it upright and
securely. Take it home immediately; do not leave it in your
       vehicle.

-- Before connecting or lighting a propane grill, check the
propane cylinder and connections for leaks by applying soapy
water to valves and connections. A leak will cause bubbles to
form. The distinct odor of rotten eggs may indicate the
       presence of a propane leak.

-- If a leak is detected, turn off the gas and tighten all
connections. Test again. If the bubbles or smell continues,
have your tank and/or grill checked by your local grill
       supplier.

-- If you have a major leak or a fire, call 911 or your local
       fire department immediately.

-- Keep children away from the grill and propane tank.

-- When lighting your grill, make sure the grill top is open and
       follow the manufacturer's instructions.

-- When not in use, grill controls should be turned off and the
       propane cylinder valve closed.

-- You can save money by having your tank refilled rather than
paying to exchange your tank. Most people plan ahead and
often still have propane in their tank when they decide to
"refill"; when you exchange for a different tank, you forfeit
any propane left in your own tank. At your neighborhood
U-Haul center you pay only for the propane put into your tank.

More than 60 million people use propane in their daily activities. In fact, propane is fast becoming a household staple for heating homes and swimming pools, as well as fueling gas grills and appliances.

"Propane is a convenient energy source and is one of the safest, cleanest-burning alternative fuels available, when handled correctly," commented Happ. "Propane can be utilized in many ways. Today, one of the most exciting uses for propane is as a clean, environmentally safe alternative fuel for vehicles."
