CLAREMONT, Calif., May 24, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Kiwa Bio-Tech Products Group Corporation (OTCBB:KWBT) announced that customers are performing "application tests" of its bio-fertilizer products this summer.
Wei Li, Chairman and CEO, reported today, "These three separate production tests represent significant future opportunities to expand our business."
First, Kiwa's Yimuling product is being tested on cantaloupe and other vegetables planted in Caohu and Wuhu in Anhui Provinces and sold in Shanghai City.
Second, the 6th Agriculture Division of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corp. is testing Kiwa's microbe fertilizer on 13,333 hectares of tomato fields. Xinjiang Production and Construction Corp. is one of China's largest agriculture companies and is a subsidiary of Xinjiang Chalkistomato Co., one of the largest tomato production and processing enterprises in China (http://www.chalkistomato.com). Xinjiang Chalkistomato Co. holds significant market share of the Chinese domestic and international tomato products industry. If Kiwa's products test well, consideration will be given to Kiwa supplying bio-fertilizers for Xinjiang Chalkistomato's 33,000 hectares of tomato crops.
Third, on behalf of Beidahuang Group, Kiwa's R&D center and China Agriculture University have developed several special fertilizers. If the tests are successful Beidahuang Group, a large farm organization in China, is expected to make purchases through Kiwa's distribution agents.
