BlabberMouth PR Executive Director, Dr. Duana C. Welch, to Speak for June 2, 2006 American Diabetes Association Corporate Breakfast

Dr. Welch to Speak to Corporate Executives About Daily Life With Diabetes, Raising Awareness and Sponsorship of Upcoming America's Walk For Diabetes

SAN ANTONIO, May 30, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- BlabberMouth L.P., the only public relations agency to offer 100% senior-level representation, is pleased to announce that its Executive Director Dr. Duana Welch has been selected to speak at the San Antonio Chapter of the American Diabetes Association's June 2nd Corporate Breakfast. The breakfast, to be attended by 50-75 regional executives, is intended to raise corporate awareness and sponsorship of America's Walk for Diabetes (AWFD). AWFD is the nation's top fund-raising event to fight diabetes and will take place on November 4, 2006. The ADA's mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all persons affected by this chronic disease.

Dr. Welch, who spearheads the ADA's regional public relations campaign and directs the Communications area of its Leadership Council year-round on a pro-bono basis, is the parent of a daughter with insulin-dependent diabetes; her talk will focus on what daily life is like for parents and children with diabetes, personalizing the issues so as to have the greatest impact with potential corporate sponsors.

States Elizabeth Tobias, Senior Executive Director, South Texas and Central Texas Area of the ADA, "We are honored that Duana is speaking to raise funds for America's Walk For Diabetes at this breakfast. We invited her to speak based on our lengthy experience of her as a person, a public relations professional, a volunteer, and a parent of a child with diabetes. It is imperative that our region's businesses get involved in funding a cure for diabetes, and we know that Duana will raise awareness as few others can."

Patti Hill, President of BlabberMouth PR, continues, "BlabberMouth PR encourages every member of our firm to engage a pro-bono account. Duana's only child, age 4, has had insulin-dependent diabetes for more than half her life, and so the American Diabetes Association has been a natural fit for Duana. Duana's passionate commitment to eradicating diabetes serves as proof of the adage that the pen is mightier than the sword. We could not be more pleased to serve for the ADA."

Concludes Tobias, "More than 20 million Americans currently have diabetes, and one-third are unaware of their medical status. The San Antonio ADA chapter's activities are particularly vital, as 12% of Bexar County residents have diabetes, double the national rate. We look forward to the day when this disease will be a historical footnote. This Corporate Breakfast for America's Walk for Diabetes is one more step in that direction, and our volunteers such as Duana make it all happen."
