MURRAY, Idaho, June 6, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Metaline Contact Mines (OTCBB:MTLI) is continuing to evaluate core drilling, geophysical studies and other geologic data on its Pend Oreille/Metaline Zinc Mines near Metaline Falls, Washington, generated by a subsidiary of Teck Cominco Ltd.
MTLI's sizable holdings virtually surround Teck Cominco's producing Pend Oreille Mine, and are leased to and actively explored for zinc and lead ores by Teck Cominco. MTLI receives advance production royalty revenues pursuant to its lease agreement with Teck Cominco.
Teck Cominco is the world's largest zinc producer, and its Pend Oreille Mine is feeding much-needed zinc concentrates to its world-class smelter-refinery complex in Trail, British Columbia, approximately 50-miles north of the project.
Mine Systems Design Inc. of Kellogg, Idaho, retained to conduct an evaluation and preliminary resource calculation, has been slowed by the enormous amounts of data being provided by Teck Cominco. Results of the evaluation and resource calculation will be announced once these studies have been concluded.
Metaline Contact Mines develops and acquires royalty interests in mineral properties and projects of unusual merit, including its producing Golden Chest Mine (gold) and its Pend Oreille/Metaline Zinc Mines (zinc & lead).
