About the Author

Jim Stamborski has been a lifelong Chicago sports fan, seeing his first baseball game as a child living in Southern California when the Chicago White Sox played the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1959 World Series. A Chicago resident for 32 years, he is the author of 3 other sports books about football coaches Mike Ditka and Jimmy Johnson as well as several articles on public recreation in the United States. Jim has a M.S. degree in Urban Parks and Recreation from the George Williams College at Aurora University, in Aurora, Illinois, and attended North Park College and Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago where he received his B.S. degree. Currently, he recently retired after working 30 years in parks and recreation administration and resides in Clermont, Florida.
