McFarlane Toys Announces MLB Exclusives for John Hancock All Star FanFest: Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell

TEMPE, Ariz., June 15, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- McFarlane Toys will pay a visit to the "Steel City" this July and set up shop inside the MLB FanFest for baseball's All-Star Game. The David L. Lawrence Convention Center is the home of the 2006 MLB All-Star FanFest -showcasing 40 baseball-themed attractions from July 7-11. As in previous years, McFarlane will be bringing a pair of exclusive figures to offer the Pittsburgh faithful and turn the heads of some new fans as well.

McFarlane's Sports Picks officially licensed baseball products will be on display, and the company will be selling a pair of FanFest exclusive figures: Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell.

Long before Hines Ward delivered "one for the thumb" and Super Mario hoisted the Stanley Cup, Pittsburgh learned the meaning of a championship thanks to the Pirates' Clemente and Stargell. These two Hall-of-Famers were both chiefly responsible for delivering the Pirates' last two titles -- the 1971 and 1979 championships.

Both championships were won in hard-fought seven-game series over the Baltimore Orioles. McFarlane's two exclusive figures showcase Clemente and Stargell in the uniforms they won their signature titles in, and have a limited production run of 3,000 figures of each player. The figures will cost $15 each or $25 for a set. Both figures are individually packaged in a special All-Star clamshell container. For more information about the event and the exclusives, log on to McFarlane.com.

The McFarlane Toys booth will be located in the Collector's Showcase area, and will feature rare figure prototypes and a first look at the upcoming McFarlane Sports Picks MLB lines.

The John Hancock All-Star FanFest is the largest baseball fan event in the nation and is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for families and fans of all ages. To find out more, call 800-449-3267, visit MLB.com or pirates.com.
