TASER Device Ends Standoff, Brings Assault Suspect Into Custody

According to news reports from local Tennessee's WKYT Channel 27, a CBS affiliate, Lexington Police officers were called to Lindenhurst Drive, where Thomas Turner was armed with a knife and holding his girlfriend against her will. When the police arrived, the women had sustained injuries to her head and body. After advising Turner to drop the knife, there was a short standoff that was eventually ended when an officer used a TASER device to bring Turner to the ground and into custody.

Turner has been charged with assault and other charges are pending. The women was taken to the hospital, but was alert and able to speak with police.
