About the Author

The author is a graduate of Dillard High School, class of 1965, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. where he successfully completed two years in the Automotive Body Repair and Refinishing program. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force where he was able to continue his training in the automotive repair field for four years. His assignments were staff cars and various trucks such as tractor-trailers, fire trucks, Missile carriers, forklifts, cranes and combat vehicles. After receiving an Honorable Discharge he continued his training at Sheridan Vocational Technical center in Hollywood, Fla. and completed their eighteen-month program.

The author began teaching the automotive body and refinishing craft after completing his training at Sheridan. He has keep his knowledge and skills updated by enrolling in various training classes offered by General Motors, Ford Motor Company, and different refinishing companies such as Dupont Automotive Refinishing, R-M Automotive Refinishing, and PPG Automotive Refinishing. The author has spent more than three decades in the automotive industry, and with the growing number of complaints and questions about different repair shops and technicians from students and non-students, the author was motivated to write a book that would be easy to read and understand, plus be of tremendous help for all car owners when taking their automobiles in for repairs or services.
