IDGA's Conference, Firepower 2006: Precision at Low Cost and Reduced Collateral Damage, Has Technology Day Slated for Monday, September 25th, 2006

NEW YORK, June 26, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Firepower 2006 conference will deliver with 3 powerful pre-conference classes on Firepower Technology Day. This conference will be held at the Hilton Washington DC/Silver Spring, in Silver Spring, Maryland September 25th - 27th, 2006.

The first session given by Dr. Michael R. Wang, Director of R& D at New Span Opto-Technology, Inc., is "High Speed Wide-Field-of-View Small Target Tracking Sensor." It will address the continuing need to develop an innovative sensor that is able to recognize and track small, closely located and fast moving objects in real time at short to intermediate ranges, which can be applied to small projectiles, such as rocket propelled grenade and gunfire locating.

The second session given by both John T. Morris and James Kuzmick of Whitney, Bradley & Brown, Inc., is "Understanding the Art of the Possible in Precision Training." It will address critical issues such as current and future missions and requirements for GPS-based Targeting, challenges/limitations in GPS technology, improvements, targeting considerations for GPS-guided weapons and precision targeting advancements in the next 5 to 10 years.

The third session lead by a panel of distinguished individuals from Techrizon, is titled "Precision Fires: Tactical Targeting and Strategic Effects." This unique demonstration features two areas of Techrizon's domain expertise -- the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) Modular Launcher Communications System and Forward Observer System Precision Strike Suite-Special Operations Forces (FOS PSS-SOF). In the urban and complex terrain where the tactical and operational battles in the Global War on Terrorism are fought, a new technique is being used with great success: the pairing of a sensor from a brigade combat team or member of a special operational forces team and a HIMARS launcher -- an unprecedented all-weather capability that can engage and destroy targets with strategic value.
