ABILENE, Kan., July 6, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Duckwall-ALCO Stores, Inc. (Nasdaq:DUCK) today announced that its sales from continuing operations for the five weeks ended July 2, 2006 (fiscal month of June) increased approximately 9.5% to $46.3 million compared with $42.3 million in the prior-year month, and same-store sales increased 6.2%.
Sales year-to-date increased 11.4% to $196.4 million compared to $176.3 million in the prior year, and same-store sales increased 7.2%.
