United Online Names Jeremy Helfand as Executive Vice President of Sales and Chief Sales Officer


WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., July 7, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- United Online, Inc. (Nasdaq:UNTD), a leading provider of consumer Internet and media services, today announced the hiring of Jeremy Helfand as executive vice president and chief sales officer, a newly created position.

Helfand most recently was the senior vice president and general manager of Advertising.com, a leading provider of results-based interactive marketing services and a division of America Online, Inc. Helfand spent six years with Advertising.com and was instrumental in building the company from a start up Internet advertising network into an Internet advertising sales leader. Advertising.com was sold to America Online, Inc. in August 2004 for $435 million.

At United Online, Helfand will be responsible for the United Online Media Group, which sells advertising and partnerships across the NetZero, Juno, Bluelight, Classmates, PhotoSite, Freeservers and Names Database businesses. He will be responsible for direct sales, wholesale, ad operations and advertising planning and inventory management functions. Mr. Helfand will be relocating from Baltimore, Maryland with his family and based at the United Online World Headquarters in Woodland Hills, California. He will report directly to United Online chairman and CEO Mark R. Goldston.
