Alec Ellison, President of Jefferies Broadview, to Speak on Software Mergers and Acquisitions

Morris, Manning & Martin Partner John Yates to Introduce M and A Expert

ATLANTA, July 10, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Southeastern Software Association will host a Software and Information Technology Mergers & Acquisitions Update this week with Alec Ellison, President of the Jefferies Broadview technology investment banking group.

"In addition to his 20 years experience, his firm recently represented JBoss in its acquisition by Red Hat Software, so he's a great resource on the latest developments in the mergers & acquisitions market," said SSA President Scott Gardner, who is also Director of Strategic Development for Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP.

Based in New York, Ellison leads Jefferies Broadview's global M&A advisory practice. He leads a group of over 90 bankers worldwide, and has completed more than 100 technology transactions. Ellison earned his MBA degree from Harvard Business School and his BA degree from Yale University.

Technology law pioneer John Yates, who chairs the Technology Group at Morris, Manning & Martin, will introduce Ellison, who is a native of Charleston, SC.

"It will be great to be back with my friends from the South," said Ellison. "Atlanta is the software center of the region, and I look forward to meeting with my friends at this SSA event."

The M&A update will be held on Thursday, July 13, in the Hodges Room on the 3rd Floor of the Advanced Technology Development Center, 75 Fifth Street, N.W. in Atlanta. The doors open at 7:00 a.m. for networking. The program will run from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. Seating is limited, so reservations are recommended.
