Delta Invites Budget-Minded Jet Setters to Explore the World With Special Low International Fares

Airline's expanding international route system offers customers new choices for fall, winter travel


ATLANTA, July 12, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Delta Air Lines -- the world's largest airline in terms of destinations served -- is inviting customers to explore its expanding international route system with special low fares for travel to exciting destinations around the world. This fall and winter, Delta customers will find it more economical to enjoy fish and chips in England, kiss the Blarney Stone in Ireland, trace the steps of the Mayans in Central America or marvel at the Taj Mahal in India thanks to special low fares now available between the United States and dozens of international destinations.

Customers can begin planning their exotic adventures today with discounted fares now available at delta.com or from a travel agent. Customers should act fast, however, as these discounted fares must be purchased no later than July 28, 2006. Additionally, for travel to destinations in the Caribbean/Puerto Rico, Central America and Mexico, travel must be complete by Jan. 13, 2007; for all other destinations travel must be complete by April 20, 2007.

Customers enjoying Delta's special low international fares will benefit from the airline's significantly expanded international route system, including more than 50 new international routes added in the last year. This summer Delta is the world's largest airline between the United States and Europe with more than 350 weekly flights to 29 trans-Atlantic destinations. Delta's newest trans-Atlantic routes from Atlanta include Dusseldorf, Germany; Nice, France; Athens, Greece; Edinburgh, Scotland; and Johannesburg, South Africa (effective Dec. 4). From New York-JFK, new Delta routes include Budapest, Hungary; Kiev, Ukraine; Dublin/Shannon, Ireland; Manchester, England; Mumbai, India (effective Nov. 1); and Accra, Ghana (effective Dec. 11).

Delta also continues to grow in Latin America where it now offers customers nearly 500 weekly flights. In recent months, Delta has begun service to new nonstop destinations including Acapulco, Merida, and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo Mexico, and San Pedro Sula and Roatan, Honduras from Atlanta; Los Cabos, Mexico from Cincinnati; Mazatlan, Mexico from Salt Lake City; Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco, Mexico from New York JFK; and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo from Los Angeles.
