Mercantile Bank Corporation Declares Third Quarter Cash Dividend of $0.13 Per Share


GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., July 12, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- At a meeting held July 11, 2006, the Board of Directors of Mercantile Bank Corporation (Nasdaq:MBWM) declared a third quarter cash dividend of $0.13 per share on the Corporation's common stock. The dividend is payable on September 8, 2006 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on August 10, 2006.

Gerald R. Johnson, Mercantile's Chairman and CEO, stated, "We are pleased to provide shareholders with a solid return based on earnings growth as well as a combination of stock and cash dividends."
