AUSTIN, Texas, July 12, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Jessica Kelly Bruehl, owner of JKB Realty Group, has been named one of the nation's top real estate agents under age 30 by Realtor Magazine, a publication of the National Association of Realtors. The article in the June issue of the magazine lists the top "30 Under 30," chosen from 550 applications to reflect the "geographic, ethnic and career diversity of National Association of Realtors members."
Bruehl, 28, is not only a real estate agent, she is also a real estate investor. She purchased her first condo with money earned as a swimming instructor while attending the University of Texas on an athletic scholarship for the Lady Longhorns Swim Team. After graduating with Honors from UT, Bruehl sold the condo and used the proceeds to purchase two investment properties, in the process realizing her professional calling.
Bruehl focuses on the downtown, Westlake and lake areas of Austin. With the help of one assistant, last year she closed 80 transactions for about $16.5 million in volume. This year, her team has grown to include four assistants and she is well on her way to achieving her goal for 2006: 125 transactions and $25 million in sales.
The article in Realtor Magazine notes: "Bruehl's edge comes from her boundless energy, keen listening skills, and ability to provide practical financial advice to clients. She's also a team player, a skill she learned in competitive swimming."
Bruehl is also known for starting Austin Wealth Builders, a networking and referral group with more than 40 members, which meets bimonthly. A former chair of Austin Under 40, she is currently involved in charities including the Young Women's Alliance and Keller Williams Cares.
