Grill Concepts Opens The Grill on the Alley in Dallas

LOS ANGELES, July 17, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Grill Concepts, Inc. (Nasdaq:GRIL) today debuted the company's flagship restaurant in Texas with the opening of its newest The Grill on the Alley-branded restaurant at the front entrance of the Dallas Galleria shopping complex.

The Grill on the Alley is a $3.0 million, 7,200 square-foot restaurant with a 1,000 square-foot patio and combined seating for more than 250 guests. The restaurant offers a classic menu of prime steaks, chops, fresh seafood, pasta and freshly prepared salads. It also features hand-crafted cocktails at a full-service bar and an extensive wine list, including unique selections from California's boutique wineries.

"We are extremely excited about The Grill on the Alley opening at Dallas Galleria and being part of a high-visibility destination that attracts more than 17 million visitors a year," said Philip Gay, president and chief executive officer. "Given the initial success of our Daily Grill in the Houston Galleria, we are confident that the Dallas Galleria, with more than 200 nationally and internationally recognized retailers, will also be a strong home for our newest The Grill on the Alley restaurant."

The Grill on the Alley in Dallas is the fifth of the company's flagship restaurants to open. The original restaurant was opened in Beverly Hills in 1984. Set in the traditional style of the old-time grills in New York and San Francisco, the decor draws upon the traditional American grills of the 1930s and 1940s.

The Dallas Galleria recently completed a multi-million dollar redevelopment that transformed the complex into a contemporary European-style shopping arena. Grill Concepts signed a 15-year lease on the restaurant property, with two 5-year options.
