An Open Texture -- New Novel Features Dramatic Tale of Revenge and Man's Nature to Take the Law Into His Own Hands

HALF MOON BAY, Calif., July 17, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- In our complicated world, justice is rarely served and it is part of our nature to demand so much. As such, mankind has a terrible history of breaking the law only to serve his personal interest. With Rhys Archer's compelling new book, An Open Texture, a tale of inner rage, death, family and honor is about to begin.

An Open Texture features a story of revenge. It begins when a young man comes to believe his father, while a second lieutenant in Vietnam, was killed by his own men. Thirty years later, he tracks down those he holds responsible to impose on them his own rough justice. The last of them, a man of obsessive pride, lives in comfort in a small town in South Carolina. That comfort and his standing in the community are threatened by the intrusion of the town bully into his private affairs, especially his love affair with a young woman, the local beauty, scarcely half his age. The coming of the young man into town brings these three undeniable forces into conflict with tragic consequences for them all.

An Open Texture is the first of four proposed volumes to be gathered in a series entitled The Four Pillars. With this book, readers will discover why justice is always elusive as well as why vengeance is inevitable. Its story is beautifully written, fast-paced and will engage the reader to consider points and analyze the pressure of events.
