MessageGate Launches v4.2 of Its Enterprise - Proven Email Governance Software

Latest Release Includes Windows(R) support, Intelligent Archiving Features, and Advanced Management and Reporting

BELLEVUE, Wash., July 19, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- MessageGate, Inc., the leader in email governance solutions, today announced the immediate availability of v4.2 which includes MessageGate Archive Categorization and MessageGate Policy Enforcement. Version 4.2 adds cross-platform support, enhanced system management, and advanced policies for even greater enterprise flexibility and scalability throughout the live email stream and archive.

"The MessageGate solution has enabled us to take a proactive approach to our email management," said Brad Taylor, Systems Architect for Eplica, Inc. a leading provider of Corporate Services. "MessageGate's sophisticated email analysis and policy customization capabilities have helped us to simplify and streamline our email management, ensure policies are followed and significantly lighten the load on IT."

Version 4.2 enhances email policy management and archive categorization capabilities through an easy-to-use, Web-based interface for system administrators. Policy Enforcement allows organizations to put their particular corporate policies and regulatory requirements at the center of the email management system, while providing employees with the power to self-monitor through features like MessageGate(R) SenderConfirm. Archive Categorization provides integration with a variety of email archiving and content storage systems including Symantec's Enterprise Vault email and content archiving software through MessageGate's participation as a charter member of the Symantec Intelligent Archiving Partner Program.

To further increase enterprise flexibility and scalability, MessageGate has added SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) for centralized management, allowing companies to easily monitor component and policy activity across geographically dispersed locations using industry leading tools such as HP OpenView and IBM(R) Tivoli(R) NetView(R). In addition, MessageGate has added full cross-platform support with the addition of Windows to existing supported platforms Linux and Solaris.

MessageGate delivers a flexible and extensible solution that provides complete email control for very large distributed organizations. It helps enterprises manage their email asset, where 80 percent of corporate intellectual property resides, by making it easier to manage, archive and retrieve email. Companies can not only monitor their email systems, but also prevent intentional and unintentional policy violations from occurring. MessageGate enables companies to:

   1. Analyze email usage and patterns within an organization by
supplying quantitative measures and benchmarks for comparison
      and action.

   2. Ease the retrieval of relevant archived email through
policy-based categorization and tagging before email
      is stored.

   3. Prevent accidental or malicious email usage and information
leaks that could result in public embarrassment, stolen
      intellectual property, or legal action.

"MessageGate clearly understands the challenges that customers face in trying to achieve and sustain a high level of corporate email governance," said Shaun Wolfe, president and CEO of MessageGate. "Leveraging our enterprise heritage, we have delivered a solution with unprecedented power to control and manage email."
