LAS VEGAS, July 25, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Samaritan Pharmaceuticals Inc. (AMEX:LIV), a developer of innovative drugs, and The Samaritan Innovative Science Foundation (The Samaritan Foundation), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supported by Samaritan is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Brotherhood Crusade Jim Cleamons Books and Basketball Camp, was a huge success.

The California Science Center is a dynamic destination where families, school groups, adults and even young children can explore the wonders of science through interactive exhibits, live demonstrations and innovative programs.

Consistent with the California Science Center, the Samaritan Foundation's objective is for young people to experience science by hands-on learning to possibly spark their interest in becoming the young scientists of tomorrow.

Jim Cleamons, a former NBA player with the Los Angeles Lakers and coach with the Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers, has always had a passion for working with at-risk youth. His sports and education-focused camp is designed to help at-risk youth develop fundamental skills, good sportsmanship and financial, personal and social skills.

George Weaver, regulatory affairs with Samaritan Pharmaceuticals, who served as Camp Director stated, "There is no greater thrill than having a student tell me, 'I didn't like science before your camp, and now it's my favorite class.' Kids may be initially attracted to us because of the sports, but in a short time, not only do they get to experience athletes, such as Coach Cleamons, they build real life skill sets within this experiential method."

The Samaritan Foundation is currently developing a BioFuture Bus, an experiential CSI lab on a bus that travels to middle and high schools.
