Love, Ballet, and Tragedy on Red Square -- New Book Features Forbidden Love Relationship Between an American Boy and a Russian Girl

CHEVY CHASE, Md., July 27, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nothing could limit the power of love and no matter how different cultures can be from each other, love always prevails. This is the force behind the compelling story of forbidden love in Red Square Dance, the new book from veteran author Gerald Lewis Geiger.

Set against the background of Russia, Red Square Dance tells the tragic love story of an American boy and a Russian girl who crossed the boundaries and fell in love. Together, they shared their common love for ballet and opera, accepted each other's culture, and defied the forces who opposed their union. Will the lovers be able to stay together until the very end? Only time can tell.

Red Square Dance brings back to life the drama of tragedies, the vibration of love, the defiance of youth, the artistry of music, and most of all American-Russian cultural kinship. It is a book that is greatly driven by love set in a time of political tension and social hardships, which will win the attention of readers who greatly enjoy love stories, romance and ballet. This is one love novel that you simply cannot afford to miss!

As part of the "Hands-across-the-Footlights" project (see Note), the Epic of Katya, as told in Red Square Dance, is also available as "A Midwinter Night's Dream" -- a ballet, and "La Katya Eroica" -- an opera.
