TASER Device Brings Knife Wielding Man into Custody


WASHINGTON, July 28, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- TASER International, Inc. (Nasdaq:TASR), a market leader in advanced electronic control devices, released the following News Alert:

According to news reports from KSAT Channel 12 in Bexar County, Texas, police responded to the 10500 block of Highway 281 South around 10 p.m. Sunday night after receiving a call for a family domestic disturbance. Officers arrived to find an intoxicated man walking in and out of traffic while holding a knife to his throat. Police attempted to use pepper spray to subdue the man but he ran into a nearby field where he again put the knife to his throat. A TASER(r) device was then used to bring the man into custody after attempts to talk him down failed. Two officers received cuts and bruises during the arrest.

The man faces possible charges ranging from resisting arrest to assault on a public servant.
